Wide Aperture Macros
Wide Aperture Macros

I recently purchased a set of macro extension tubes for my camera. I’ve been interested in macro photography for a while but I’ve never had a macro lens so I thought I’d give it a try!
I shot all of these images on my 5D MKII with my 50mm 1.4 lens at its maximum aperture. They [...]

Woburn Lake Gazebo
Woburn Lake Gazebo

The Lake and Gazebo in this shot are fenced off from public access, I’ve noticed them whilst driving through Woburn a few times now and decided to see if I could take a look! I couldn’t get very close and I had to shoot through some trees but it was totally worth it for this [...]

Woburn Church
Woburn Church

A couple of shots I took at Woburn Church on the same day as the Jaguar Drivers’ Club Meet at Woburn Abbey. I really like this church, the way it’s set back from the road makes it seem very grand and important, I’d love to shoot a wedding here!

Field, Forest & Sky
Field, Forest & Sky

Fly on Lavendar
Fly on Lavendar

More from my back garden, this guy was just chilling out on this Lavendar flower. He sat there for a while so I got a couple of good shots despite the super wide aperture.

Leaves
Leaves

I’ve always loved simple shots of forest floor textures so when I noticed this shot with layers of leaves I saw an awesome opportunity for a texture shot . Pretty simple processing on this one, bringing out the highlights and darkening the shadows without affecting the midtone contrast.

Lavendar
Lavendar

I’ve been useless at posting to the photoblog this past month. I’m gonna try and make up for it with lots of great posts this next month! Shot of Lavendar taken in my back garden at the weekend.

Jaguar Drivers' Club - National Day 2009 - Woburn Abbey
Jaguar Drivers’ Club – National Day 2009 – Woburn Abbey

I woke up this morning feeling creative, I had a whole day to do what I wanted with. I started off pretty slowly, taking ages to eat breakfast and get dressed! Then I spoke to a couple of friends to see if I could organise another biking shoot like the last one at Chicksands. I [...]
